Develop and support next generation products and services, including comprehensive learning solutions that use Scootpad, SEL, Mawi, etc., with some direction. Participate in &/or drive technology aspects of same. Engage in Agile. Work on new product innovations. Develop in container and serverless computing environments using Java, node.js, NextJS, TypeScript, React, NestJs, AngularJS and other JavaScript frameworks and tools for front-end services. Integrate with Bitbucket for source control and CircleCI for builds in a continuous integration deployment model. Collaborate with Scrum team to support all SDLC activities (product scalability, reliability, consistency, performance). Leverage static code analysis tools. Design, create, maintain, and enhance solutions per architecture and feature specifications. Actively lead &/or participate in design/architectural discussions, grooming user stories, sprint demos, and daily Scrums to establish a BDD approach. Research and recommend product, infrastructure, or design changes, tools and standards to ensure software quality and performance. Mentor, coach, advise team members. Support junior team members to proactively anticipate and resolve issues across Scrum teams. Telecommuting possible from anywhere in the U.S. after one year of employment at Iowa City Headquarters – remote living benefit. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Comp Science, Math, Statistics, Info Systems, or closely related field with 2 yrs of experience in software development that includes: prior experience with Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and one or more of container and/or serverless computing using Java and/or node.js; in unit test development, architecting software solutions, technical design in continuous integration environment; working in a micro-service architecture and knowledge of how to write/test RESTful APIs, version control (such as Git), relational and no-SQL database skills (MongoDB, MySQL, Postgres); ability to use JSON and XML.
