The University of Iowa, Carver College of Medicine is seeking a Curriculum Coordinator to provide oversight, coordination and leadership in the design, planning, implementation, integration and evaluation of portions of the curriculum leading to the M.D. degree in the Carver College of Medicine, as well as to serve in the role of community manager for one of four student learning communities. Added duties include the planning, organizing and oversight of the Clinical Transitions week for second year students as they begin their core clerkships.

Duties will include: To coordinate with preclinical Faculty Directors and support staff the planning, implementation and maintenance of portions of the medical curriculum including but not limited to Clinical and Professional Skills III, Medicine and Society III, Mechanisms of Health and Disease IV, and MOHD Keystone courses. Collaborate with the IPE Coordinator to develop and implement interprofessional education experiences. Assist in the development and implementation of the evaluation process and educational materials for the medical curriculum. Consult with faculty and staff concerning appropriate methods of instruction, format, exam questions and student evaluation.

A Master's degree in an

education-related or health care field or equivalent education and experience is required. Considerable (3-5 years) administrative, supervisory and program experience is required. Curriculum development experience in a university setting is required. Demonstrated evidence of a commitment to diversity in the educational community is required. Some experience in public speaking, technical writing and/or teaching is necessary. Must be proficient in computer software applications. The successful candidate should enjoy working with students and as a member of a team. Experience working with medical students or other healthcare professionals is highly desirable.
