Human Resources Director:
Full-time position available with the Cerro Gordo County Human Resources and Safety Department. The Human Resources Director works extensively with elected officials, department heads, and county employees. The position is responsible for the interviewing, hiring, and training of employees; addressing and resolving personnel issues; compliance with OSHA regulations; oversight of workers compensation and FMLA records; negotiation of union contracts; and the preparation and administration of budgets for the Human Resources and Safety Departments.
A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Human Resources, Public Administration, a related field, or a combination of acceptable education and experience. A minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in human resources is required. 3 years labor relations and 1-3 years employee safety experience preferred. PHR/SHRM-CP required; SPHR/SHRM-SCP preferred. Experience in local government including planning and zoning is a plus.
