University of Iowa Health Care is currently accepting applications for a Senior Financial Analyst in the Department of Finance.

This position will help lead development and implement projects to support and maintain the business analytics tools of the University of Iowa Physicians (UIP) Group. Areas of major focus include physician practice scorecard/

dashboard development, operational and productivity performance analysis, benchmarking, revenue cycle analysis, patient access optimization and service volume trends. This position will collaborate with teams of analysts in the Business Intelligence Group, HEDI Data Warehouse Team and application developers to develop, create and present business analysis related to financial, operational and statistical reporting.

Education Required:

Bachelor's degree in Health Science, Computer Science, Math, Business or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required

Experience Required:

•3-5 years of experience using complex

databases, SQL queries, spreadsheet

and data visualization/reporting tools

for financial and operational analysis

•Expert knowledge of relational

database query (SQL) skills and large

databases, specifically with the EPIC

clarity data warehouse

•Expert knowledge of reporting tools

(Tableau, PowerPivot, PowerQuery,

Qlikview, Spotfire, Business Objects

WEBI or other similar tools)

•Previous hands-on experience

building metrics, balanced score

cards, key performance indicators,

data analysis, with dashboard data

visualization techniques

•Excellent written and verbal

communication skills

•Working knowledge in statistical

methods and result interpretation

such a logistic regression, decision

tree, K-Means, Random Forest, etc.

•Experience as a project leader for

data driven projects

•Experience with patient satisfaction

survey data and interpretation

Desirable Qualifications:

•Master's degree in Health Science,

Computer Science, Math, Business or

related field

•Ability to find crucial data dimensions

in a complex data warehouse

•Experience with predictive analytic

modeling tools such as R, SAS,

IBM-SPSS, Microsoft Excel-SSAS

Data Mining

•Advanced SQL reporting skills with the

ability to create SQL views and write

SQL queries within Microsoft SQL

Server Management Studio and/or

Microsoft Access highly desirable

•Familiarity with EPIC Clarity /

Reporting Workbench data sources

and reporting tools

•Knowledge of University of Iowa

policies, procedures and regulations
